Celebrate World Ocean Day with Hola Mola! June 8, 2021

Stay tuned for details on Hola Mola events for WORLD OCEAN DAY

JUNE 8, 2021

We had so much fun last year!

In honor of World Oceans Day (June 8th, 2020)

Dylan really wow-ed us with his artwork and essay on his love for orca whales. He also highlighted the danger they are facing due to man-made pollution.

"I feel very sad about how we pollute the oceans.

One day my favorite animal might go extinct so we need to stop polluting because all the sea animals will die.

I love sea life and lots of orcas have been dying off.

Currently there are 385 resident Orcas in the north and south pods off the pacific northwest these pods are dying because they are starving to death. Their primary food source is chinook Salmon. Chinook salmon are being polluted by PCB’S and Mercury which is then eaten by the Orca’s. This shortens the life of the Orca."

As part of his prize Dylan was awarded a certificate of achievement and $50 in Hola Mola store credit.

Great Job, Dylan! Keep loving and protecting the ocean!
